Loudoun Ballet Performing Arts Company brings The Nutcracker to the Weinberg Center this December
EntSun News/11105821
FREDERICK, Md. - EntSun -- Loudoun Ballet Performing Arts Company (LBPAC) will perform The Nutcracker at the Weinberg Center for the Arts in Frederick, Md., on Saturday, Dec. 5 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 6 at 2 p.m.
Tickets are $50 and may be purchased online, by calling the box office at 301-600-2828, or in person at 20 W. Patrick St. Discounts are available for children.
For nearly 50 years, The Nutcracker has been a beloved holiday tradition at the Weinberg Center. This year, unforeseen circumstances required the longtime presenter of this cherished production to cancel its scheduled performances for the weekend of Dec. 4–6. The Weinberg Center deeply values the generations of families and patrons who have supported this event and recognizes the disappointment this news may bring. To honor the tradition the community holds dear, the theater is happy to feature LBPAC and their regional production of The Nutcracker. This does not impact the professional production of The Nutcracker presented by World Ballet Company on Nov. 29.

Set to Tchaikovsky's extraordinary score, this full-length ballet brings the magic of the holiday season to life. Clara welcomes the audience into her family's Christmas Eve celebration, where she receives a unique gift from her eccentric Uncle Drosselmeyer, a Nutcracker. Soon, she finds herself in the midst of a great battle between a giant Mouse King and her beloved Nutcracker. To reward Clara for her bravery, the Nutcracker Prince leads her on a magical journey through the Land of Snow to the Kingdom of Sweets. A delight for all ages, LBPAC's The Nutcracker has become a festive custom throughout the DMV.
