Startup Thoughtful Human® Launches New Collection with PAPYRUS® to Bring Cancer, Addiction, and Mental Health Content Mainstream

SAN FRANCISCO - EntSun -- Today, Thoughtful Human founder, Ali O'Grady, and PAPYRUS owner, Dominique Schurman, announced the launch of 80 unique new greeting cards into more than 160 PAPYRUS retail stores throughout North America and online at Papyrusonline.com. The first of their kind, these cards will bring awareness, dialogue, and support for many of life's issues that are often avoided and remain highly stigmatized.

Thoughtful Human is a zero-waste greeting card company out of Oakland, CA, disrupting the industry with its quirky, sustainable sentiments specifically designed for challenging circumstances. In addition to the unique sentiments, each card is plastic-free and printed on seed paper that can be planted to grow wildflowers.

With today's announcement, PAPYRUS and Thoughtful Human will bring products to encourage consumers to broach and embrace difficult and often uncomfortable conversations about cancer, grief, depression, addiction, and strained relationships, as well as other physical and mental health issues.

Both Schurman and O'Grady have lost loved ones to cancer in recent years. As such, they are dedicated to bringing options to consumers to communicate through adversity that are more honest, meaningful, and sustainable.

"Losing a loved one to cancer can be such a devastating and life-changing experience. I never truly understood the depths of grief and heartache until I lost my beloved husband to pancreatic cancer. The sense of loss and the overwhelming sadness is hard to explain or understand and during this time I have struggled to know how to best connect with others in my life," said Schurman. Beyond the products themselves, the Thoughtful Human program in stores will offer education around community resources for patients, supporters, and caregivers, as well as a giveback campaign contributing 10% of sales on select cards to pancreatic cancer research by the American Cancer Society.
