"Remembering October 7" Event & STL Premiere of "The Bridge" @ Holocaust Museum

ST. LOUIS - EntSun -- Three years after the October 7 attacks in Israel, Jewish Federation of St. Louis and the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum will bring the community together on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, for "Remembering October 7," a day-long observance dedicated to reflection, resilience, and healing.

A series of meaningful experiences will take place throughout the day, providing the community with opportunities to remember those whose lives were lost, hear their stories, and honor the strength and resilience of the Israeli people.

"October 7 was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust," said Myron Freedman, Executive Director of the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. "Our commemoration reflects the shared commitment of the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum and Jewish Federation of St. Louis to remembrance, education, preservation, and the strength of Jewish community."

"October 7 changed Israel and Jewish communities around the world," said Danny Cohn, President and CEO of Jewish Federation of St. Louis. "Three years later, we continue to carry the grief of those we lost, the strength of those who survived, and the responsibility to remember. Coming together as a community gives us space to honor their stories, support one another, and find strength and healing in our shared presence."

"Remembering October 7" includes various ways for people to participate and observe:

• Through Artifacts & Stories; 10 am- 3 pm: take part in an opportunity to preserve and share the history of October 7 through personal artifacts and stories. The community is invited to contribute to this effort in advance.
• Through Those We Lost; 4:45-6:45 pm: members of our community will honor the victims of October 7 through a reading of their names, offering an opportunity to remember each individual and reflect on the human lives behind the devastating loss. The reading of the names will conclude at approximately 6:45 p.m. with the recitation of the Mourner's Kaddish and the lighting of a yahrzeit candle in remembrance of those who were killed on October 7, 2023. • Through Healing; 7-9 pm: St. Louis film premiere of The Bridge, a documentary following 10 young Israeli survivors of the October 7 attacks and their journey toward healing through music.
