HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - EntSun -- For Immediately Release
PeaSoup: The Making of The Exorcist. The Musical
New Documentary Follows Haunting Journey to Broadway Stage
Exactly 50 years ago, the most terrifying horror film of all-time, The Exorcist, premiered. This Halloween, the documentary PeaSoup: The Making of the Exorcist, The Musical will follow in its vomit-laden footsteps.
PeaSoup tracks the twisted journey of journalist Michael A. Stusser and Musical Director David J. Goldfarb, who are attempting to bring their version of the horror film to the Broadway stage. Including songs like "Spin Your Head Round-Round." "She's Got a Little Devil Inside Her, and the showstopper "Stab Yourself in the VajajJay," the musical features a vomit-drenched audience (given rain slickers), an electronic spinning stage.
Stusser and Goldfarb admit they have no experience in making musicals, but share a long-time love for The Exorcist that overcomes this. "Just because no one ever tried to put this on stage doesn't make it a bad idea," noted Stusser. "I mean, they're just getting around to the whole Hamilton thing." Goldfarb noted his own family lineage: "My grandfather wrote, The Dreidle Song. What? You think I can't do it?!"

The documentary features the challenging auditions process, never-before-seen historical footage, hellacious infighting, as well as interviews with some of the living stars from the original film, who dislike the idea immensely. "I have absolutely nothing to do with this," Linda Blair can be seen saying exiting an Uber. "It's an insane idea. Seriously."
