Nomorobo Blocks One Billion Illegal Robocalls

Nomorobo's Tireless Crusade Against Illegal Robocallers Stops Its Billionth Scammer
NEW YORK - April 10, 2019 - EntSun -- Today marks an important milestone in the battle against robocalls. Nomorobo, the award-winning service that protects consumers from telemarketers and scammers, just blocked its one-billionth illegal robocall.
Malicious bots use illegal scams to prey upon the elderly and other vulnerable citizens. However, since winning the Federal Trade Commission's Robocall Challenge back in 2013, Nomorobo's award-winning technology has been making major waves in stemming the tide of these intrusive calls.
Unfortunately, this isn't a problem with a simple solution. It will require cooperation between independent developers, telecom companies and even the government. To that end, Nomorobo's founder, Aaron Foss, recently participated in Consumer Reports' "Hanging Up On Robocalls" roundtable event. Foss, along with several public interest groups, members of Congress, and state officials, discussed new legislation to put an end to robocalls.

"Blocking one billion robocalls is a huge deal, and the government and telecom companies are trying their best, but it is still not enough," says Foss. He continues: "This is why participating in the Consumer Reports roundtable was a wonderful opportunity. By sharing ideas and concerns with a wide variety of scam hunters, we're working together to find better solutions to the robocall epidemic."
