Local designer makes safety masks for hospital

To help combat the COVID-19 health crisis, Johana Hernández, fashion designer of choice amongst new Latinx Hollywood celebrities, begins making safety masks for hospital workers at PIH Health Hospital in Downey, CA. Hernández's connection to the hospital is personal – her father's life was saved from a heart attack by the hospital's expert staff.

Johana is also teaching people how to make safety masks from home through online videos on the Glaudi YouTube channel.

Johana recently launched Glaudi Beverly Hills and was inducted into the Hall of Fame at her alma mater Downey High School, where she was enshrined along the likes of The Carpenters and Metallica's James Hetfield.

Johana also made her triumphant return from Paris Fashion Week where she showed for the third time, a first for a designer of Salvadoran descent. Walking Johana's new couture "Alta Costura" and GLAUDI – Bridal collections was the new face of Glaudi - Spanish model (and wife of Latin superstar, "Despacito" singer Luis Fonsi) Águeda López.

Johana is always busy designing the wedding dresses for popular musicians, models, actresses and social media influencers like YouTube personality Tana Marie Mongeau, popular Colombian artist Greeicy Rendon, renowned award-winning chef, TV host, author, and star of Pati's Mexican Table, Pati Jinich. On the global stage, Johana was recently included in the "Marquis Who's Who" list of the 5 % best in her industry in the USA. Lastly, she has been chosen as the official designer for Miss Universe El Salvador, Marisela Montecristo. Last season, Johana's designs won top 3 in evening gowns and this season Miss El Salvador will shine even more!
