Juneau: Renovation of Adair-Kennedy Park's Tennis and Pickleball Courts Begins July 6

EntSun News/11096487
~ Juneau's Parks & Recreation department has announced that the long-awaited renovation of Adair-Kennedy Park's outdoor tennis and pickleball courts will finally begin on Monday, July 6. The project, which is expected to result in fresh court surfaces and paint, new net posts, and three functional courts, has been eagerly anticipated by the community.

According to officials, the first phase of the renovation will involve demolition and installation of new net posts. This will be followed by resurfacing and restriping as soon as weather conditions allow. The entire construction process is estimated to take place throughout the month of July and may extend into August depending on weather conditions and contractor scheduling.

During this time, the Adair-Kennedy Park's courts will be closed to the public. However, players can still enjoy their favorite sports at Cope Park while renovations are underway. It should be noted that the basketball court at Adair-Kennedy Park will not be affected by this project.

Funding for this much-needed renovation was allocated last year through Parks & Playground Capital Improvement Project funds. For more information about this project, interested individuals can contact CBJ Parks & Recreation at 907-586-5226. The department is excited to see these improvements come to fruition and looks forward to providing a better experience for tennis and pickleball enthusiasts in Juneau.
