Anchorage Assembly Member Fulfills Campaign Commitment by Investing Remaining Campaign Resources in Organizations Building Anchorage's Beloved Community
ANCHORAGE, Alaska - EntSun -- George Martinez today announced the completion of his Community Re-Distribution Initiative, fulfilling a commitment made at the outset of his 2026 campaign to direct any remaining campaign resources to community-serving nonprofit organizations rather than simply rolling those funds forward again.
Through the initiative, Martinez redistributed $5,000 in campaign resources to five Anchorage nonprofit organizations whose work supports youth development, family stability, crisis response, mentorship, and community healing.
Recipients of Community Re-Distribution support included:
"At the beginning of this campaign, we made a decision that if resources remained at the end, they would be returned to the community rather than simply carried forward again," Martinez said. "Community Re-Distribution was about honoring the trust supporters placed in this campaign by making sure those resources continued serving the people and organizations building a stronger Anchorage."

The 2026 campaign began with approximately $5,000 carried forward from the conclusion of Martinez's 2023 campaign. Under Alaska law, campaigns concluding their activities may retain remaining funds for future campaigns, donate them to qualified nonprofit organizations, or allow the funds to revert to the state. Martinez said he chose Community Re-Distribution because supporters had invested not simply in a campaign account, but in a broader vision for Anchorage rooted in service, opportunity, and community care.
"These organizations are doing the work of building what Dr. King called the Beloved Community," Martinez said. "They are supporting young people, strengthening families, responding to crisis, and helping create a safer and more connected Anchorage. Returning campaign resources to them is one way of returning resources to the people."
Martinez said the completion of the initiative marks the close of the campaign while reinforcing the values that animated it from the beginning.

"Community Re-Distribution was built on a simple idea: resources entrusted by the people should ultimately find their way back to the people," Martinez said. "I'm grateful to everyone who contributed, supported, and believed in this effort, and proud that this campaign is ending by investing in organizations already serving our neighbors every day."
