Inform Juneau's Next Comprehensive Plan – "Scenario Choosing" Workshops Available Now

~ Juneau, Alaska - The City and Borough of Juneau is inviting the public to participate in their upcoming "Scenario Choosing" workshops as part of the Comprehensive Plan update. These workshops will present a series of unique growth scenarios for Juneau's future, based on community input gathered during last winter's "Juneau Futures" activities.

The workshops will offer participants the opportunity to provide their input either in person or online. Four in-person workshops will be held from late September to late October, with limited space available. Interested individuals are encouraged to sign up soon to reserve their spot. The workshops will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the following dates: Wednesday, September 30 at the Douglas Library, Thursday, October 1 at Generations Southeast, Wednesday, October 14 at the University of Alaska Southeast Recreation Center, and Thursday, October 22 at the Mendenhall Valley Library.

For those unable to attend an in-person workshop, an online workshop is available now through October 31. Participants do not need to sign up and can provide feedback directly through the online platform.

The "Scenario Choosing" workshops aim to gather feedback that will inform the creation of Juneau's next Comprehensive Plan - a guide that will shape the city's growth and development over the next two decades. During these workshops, participants will be presented with four potential growth models that showcase different mixes of housing options, economic growth strategies, walkability factors, and infrastructure costs.

Both online and in-person workshops will cover the same material and provide equal opportunities for participants to provide their input.
