The lo-fi coming-of-age thriller premiered at LA Film Festival, won the Audience Award at New Orleans Film Festival and took home prizes for both Best Narrative Feature and Best Cinematography at the prestigious Ashland Film Festival.

MY FIRST KISS AND THE PEOPLE INVOLVED follows Sam (Bobbi Salvör Menuez) a silent young woman living in a group home. She shuns human contact and retreats into a world of her own - until her caregiver Lydia (Liza Thorn) suddenly goes missing. As Sam sets out to find Lydia, a shocking turn of events forces her to confront reality, uncovering a tale of violence that shatters her fragile world.

Praised for its stylistic approach, this coming-of-age thriller blends detail-centered imagery, an expressionistic use of natural light, and a unique approach to lo-fi imagery. Shot on MiniDV cameras with a painterly quality, the film's vibrant colors paint a fairy tale-like world in which Sam's very human quest is told as a fable of trauma and discovery.
