MY FIRST KISS AND THE PEOPLE INVOLVED follows Sam (Bobbi Salvör Menuez) a silent young woman living in a group home. She shuns human contact and retreats into a world of her own - until her caregiver Lydia (Liza Thorn) suddenly goes missing. As Sam sets out to find Lydia, a shocking turn of events forces her to confront reality, uncovering a tale of violence that shatters her fragile world.

Praised for its stylistic approach, this coming-of-age thriller blends detail-centered imagery, an expressionistic use of natural light, and a unique approach to lo-fi imagery. Shot on MiniDV cameras with a painterly quality, the film's vibrant colors paint a fairy tale-like world in which Sam's very human quest is told as a fable of trauma and discovery.

"Menuez's performance... is gorgeously complemented by debuting feature writer/director Luigi Campi's nature-infused yet highly stylized presentation. … (he) has a unique grasp of both the quotidian and the otherworldly – and if "My First Kiss" is any indication, Campi has a persuasive way of combining the two."
