In Celebration of The 2019 Kennedy Center Honors, Philip Bailey Hosts Special Master Class & Event

WASHINGTON - EntSun -- WHO: Philip Bailey, lead singer from Earth, Wind, & Fire.

WHAT: On December 8th, the Kennedy Center Honors will celebrate honorees Earth, Wind & Fire (members: Philip Bailey, Verdine White, and Ralph Johnson), as a musical institution with over five decades of music history. As part of Earth, Wind & Fire's celebratory visit to Washington, D.C., and in partnership with the The Duke Ellington School of the Arts, the DC Office of Cable Television, Film, Music and Entertainment (OCTFME), and the Eaton Hotel,  Mr. Bailey will host a series of events to benefit the MUSIC IS UNITY Foundation (MIU) - a nonprofit organization created in 2007, by Mr. Bailey and his daughter Trinity,  to support agencies working with foster youth who are transitioning into adulthood and aging out of the foster care system.

The two-part series, will include:

• Master Class - A one-hour private master class, held at the prestigious Duke Ellington School of the Arts from 3:30pm - 4:30pm. Students from the music department, and youth with an interest in music from various DC's foster care agencies will be in attendance. Mr. Bailey will be accompanied by renowned pianist, and EWF's music director, Myron McKinley.

• An Evening with Philip Bailey at the Eaton Hotel - As part of its Practice/Practice series the hotel will host a special meet and greet, and Q&A session with Mr. Bailey from 7:30pm - 9pm; immediately following an  invite-only VIP reception (from 6:30 - 7:30pm, ET), with proceeds going directly to the MIU Foundation. Gallo Wines will sponsoring the the evening reception and Q&A.
