Immaculata-La Salle Graduate Wins Regional Student Production Award for Documentary
EntSun News/11100608
MIAMI - EntSun -- Immaculata-La Salle High School graduate Francisco Pages has won the school's first Student Production Award from the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Suncoast Chapter for his trailer for Chasing Zero, a 12-part documentary series about the 2024–2025 ILS varsity cheerleading team.
Francisco earned the award in the Solo Storyteller category, which recognizes outstanding student achievement in television and video production. His project will now advance to the national student competition, where it will compete against other regional winners from across the country later this year.
Chasing Zero gives viewers an all-access look at the ILS cheerleading team through practices, performances and competitions. The series looks beyond the glitter, smiles and game-day performances to show the hard work, pressure, sacrifice, highs and lows behind the sport.

Francisco produced the project on his own, serving as videographer, editor, director, writer and producer. It took him six months to produce the series.
"The idea started after a conversation with a cheerleader who told me that football often gets more recognition than cheer," said Francisco. "As I learned more, I realized how much people don't see — the challenges, the skills, the pressure and the dedication. I wanted to tell their story and show that every athletic program deserves to be seen and respected."
"Francisco is mature, respectful and responsible," said Christina Ramirez. "He is not only an award-winning broadcaster, but also an accomplished pilot who is looking forward to joining the 'friendly skies' soon as he begins his university career at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in the fall."
Francisco is a member of LTV, the school's television broadcasting program, which is part of the multi-faceted media program offerings at Immaculata-La Salle High School. Through LTV, students write, edit and produce a daily 10-minute broadcast, livestream school events on YouTube, and produce live webcasts of football games from the on-campus, state-of-the-art press box at the Grosso-Parsons Sports Complex.

"ILS helped me become more confident and more aware of the people around me," Francisco said. "Through LTV Broadcast, Campus Ministry and my leadership retreat, I learned how to connect with others, serve my community and tell stories that help people understand what others go through."
