Idaho Falls: Join IFFD for an Evening of Fire Safety, Family Fun at Annual Block Party

~ Idaho Falls Fire Department is gearing up for their annual Fire Prevention Block Party, the department's biggest community event of the year. The event will take place on Wednesday, September 23rd from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Station 1 Headquarters located at 343 E St.

The free and family-friendly event aims to bring the community together for a night of fun, food, and hands-on fire safety education. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet local firefighters, explore fire apparatus and equipment, participate in firefighter-themed activities, and learn practical ways to keep their families safe.

Some of the highlights of the event include free food, fire engine tours, face painting, kids' firefighting challenges, fire safety education sessions, live demonstrations from event sponsors, photo opportunities with Sparky the Fire Dog, and a chance to meet local firefighters and explore the fire station.

According to IFFD officials, this annual block party is an important way for them to connect with the community outside of emergency situations and build relationships with those they serve. It also provides children and families with a chance to become familiar with firefighters, fire engines, and the station in a fun and welcoming environment.
