Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange & Chatham Counties Awards Local Scholarships

DURHAM, N.C. - EntSun -- The Home Builders Association (HBA) of Durham, Orange & Chatham (DOC) Counties recently celebrated its Spring Membership Meeting by awarding $9,000 in scholarships to nine area high school seniors pursuing college degrees in fields related to the construction industry. The Foundation Board of the HBADOC, a 501c3 charitable organization, has awarded over $300,000 to area students over the past 27 years. The HBADOC hosts a scholarship auction event each year to raise funds specifically for this cause.

The scholarship recipients recognized at the event were: Felton Burleigh, Julia DiBenedetto (PWB Scholarship recipient), Chase Foushee, Sophie Gibson, Henry Lin (L.E. Meyers Scholarship recipient), Ian McMillian, Caleb Moore, Aiden Morse, and James Salemson.

"Honoring these students, the future of our industry, is why I have served on this board for over 20 years," stated Mitch Barron, DRB Homes, Chair of the HBA Foundation. HBA CEO and Foundation Executive Director Holly Fraccaro added, "I am immensely proud of the HBA of Durham, Orange and Chatham Counties and its Foundation. The charitable spirit of our members inspires me year after year."
