Grammy Award Winning Pianist and Composer, Peter Kater, Wows MTPA Audience in Annapolis
EntSun News/10784530
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - EntSun -- On Saturday evening, MTPA hosted Peter Kater, a multiple Grammy nominee and Grammy award-winning pianist and composer, with multi-platinum sales. The event was hosted by MTPA to raise awareness in the community about the opportunities that would be created by having a world-class cultural and conference center in the heart of Maryland's capital, Annapolis.
Peter Kater entertained the sell-out crowd of over 75 people for over an hour, using his wit and charm to complement his skillful mastery of his music. As he played several selections from his album, Wings of Sound, he encouraged members of the audience to lie down beneath the piano to experience the full impact of the music, and many happily took advantage of this unique opportunity.
"I thoroughly enjoyed playing for MTPA," Mr. Kater said afterwards. "Everyone was excited, open and engaged. A joyful experience!"

Damian Sinclair, an active supporter and innovator in arts communities in Washington, Virginia and Maryland, added, "What an amazing opportunity to see such a world-class artist in such an intimate setting. I was able to truly envision what it would be like to see artists of this caliber in Annapolis. MTPA is painting a real picture of what is possible artistically."
"For us," Michael Davis added, "it was an important evening because it cemented in our minds the need for a first-rate venue in Maryland's capital city that will attract the top-quality performers of our day."
One of the attendees and long-time supporter of the project, Joanne Hyder, concluded by saying that "It was an enchanting evening. The music was emotive and evocative, in an elegant setting. A first-class event for a world-class venue."
The event was supported by Toyota of Southern Maryland, Koch Homes, The Westin Annapolis, and several individual patrons. Catering was provided by Be My Guest Catering from Millersville, MD.
