In July of this year, Governor Polis celebrated Colorado's recognition as the Best State for Education by US News and World Report. This achievement was preceded by bipartisan legislation signed by the governor in 2019 that established free full-day Kindergarten in Colorado. This was followed by voters approving free preschool starting in 2023, which currently saves families over $6,300 per year. In addition, over 49,000 three and four-year-olds were served by free preschool in Program Year 2024-2025, with an expected increase to over 60,000 children in Program Year 2025-2026.
Governor Polis also delivered a keynote address at the National Clean Energy Week reception hosted by Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES). This annual week-long celebration focuses on clean energy innovation and solutions.
During his speech at the reception, Governor Polis highlighted Colorado's efforts towards clean energy and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. He spoke about the state's investments in renewable energy and how it has made Colorado more competitive.
