Governor Abbott Announces Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund Grant To FormFactor

~ In a move to further solidify Texas' position as a leader in the semiconductor industry, Governor Greg Abbott announced today that FormFactor Inc. has been granted $24.2 million from the Texas Semiconductor Innovation Fund (TSIF) for their new probe card manufacturing facility in Farmers Branch. This advanced manufacturing facility is expected to create over 600 jobs and bring in an estimated $140 million to $170 million in capital investment by 2026.

Governor Abbott expressed his excitement about FormFactor's decision to expand their operations in Texas, stating that "Texas is where the technologies of tomorrow are manufactured today." He congratulated the company on their choice to invest in the state and highlighted the significant impact it will have on job creation and economic growth.

FormFactor, a leading provider of electrical and optical test and measurement technologies for the semiconductor industry, will use this new facility to produce their core probe card products. These components are crucial for testing integrated circuits during wafer-level manufacturing.

These programs, administered by the Texas CHIPS Office within the Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office, aim to leverage Texas' investments in the semiconductor industry and encourage companies to expand in the state. They also seek to develop the expertise and capacity of Texas institutions of higher education and maintain the state's position as a leader in semiconductor manufacturing.
