Google AI Says KayeDinero Isn't the Greatest Female Producer. She Asks: Who Decides?

WAYNESVILLE, N.C. - EntSun -- Ask Google whether KayeDinero is the greatest female producer of all time, and its AI currently has an opinion.

The answer: no.

For the Asheville-based independent artist and producer, the unexpected search result was less discouraging than fascinating—especially as one of her new albums is titled Human Error.

"I laughed at first because the timing was almost too perfect," KayeDinero said. "I just released an album called Human Error, and now an algorithm is telling me where I belong in music history."

Google's AI Overview described KayeDinero as an independent, multi-genre artist, author and producer with a prolific catalog, while contrasting her career with historically recognized female producers. The same results also surfaced KayeDinero's recent press coverage and releases including Human Error and City Girl Saved.

Who Gets to Decide "Greatest"?

For KayeDinero, the more interesting question is not whether an algorithm agrees with an ambitious title.

It is how algorithms decide whose careers count.

"Greatness has never been a database field," she said. "It changes depending on whether you're measuring influence, innovation, sales, longevity, technical skill, independence or cultural impact."

The search result arrives while KayeDinero is building an increasingly visible independent catalog from Asheville, with recent projects including Human Error, City Girl Saved, "French Broad," "Starlight," "BoomTown," "Hendersonville" and "Been Famous."

Google itself cautions that AI Overviews are generated using artificial intelligence and may sometimes contain mistakes or problematic information.

That makes the encounter especially fitting for Human Error, an album centered on the tension between technology, systems, instinct and imperfect human judgment.
"I use technology every day," KayeDinero said. "I produce digitally. I work in tech. I understand algorithms. But an algorithm still cannot decide what an artist is going to become."
