GET's Dain Schult Announces, "Hip Room" Research

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - EntSun -- Global Entertainment Technology, Inc., ("GET"), has initiated special research on another weekend programming element that will be used with its Internet Radio formats and available for syndication through its Miracle Wonderland Radio Company.

Chairman, Dain Schult, stated, "This program is something we've talking about for some time.  Hip Room can be a two-hour weekend feature that display all the facets of  Soul and Funk music.  Funk originated in the Sixties when, a mixture of soul, jazz, and R&B came together. Funk music isn't so much about melody and chord progression as it features a strong rhythmic groove of a bass line played by on electric bass and drumming that is more in the foreground.

"Many well known Funk bands feature horn players varying between two and six per group.  Tower of Power ("TOP") is a perfect example as a Funk, Soul, R&B-based horn section and band, originating in Oakland, California, in 1968. TOP helped to make funk music a successful category, with a broader audience and continues to tour and produce new music to this day..

"Nine of TOP's songs made it onto the Billboard Hot 100 including 'You're Still a Young Man', 'So Very Hard to Go', 'Soul With a Capital S', 'Soul Vaccination', 'What Is Hip', and 'Don't Change Horses (in the Middle of a Stream)'.

"TOP's signature song, 'What is Hip' is the inspiration for the name of this GET show. The Godfather of Soul,' James Brown helped further Funk along from the Sixties on with a string of hit songs as well and his style of Funk was based on interlocking, contrapuntal part.  As he put it, 'I changed it from the upbeat to the downbeat...simple as that, really.'

"Sly & the Family Stone, the Isley Brothers, Mother's Finest, Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Parliament Funkadelic, Chaka Khan, Ohio Players, Kool and the Gang, Bar-Kays, Chic, LTD, Rick James, Dazz, Heatwave, Hip Room and Doctor Funk are just some of the other artists that will also be included."
