Fortune Defies Death, a suspense feature film, premieres in Los Angeles

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. - Feb. 13, 2018 - EntSun -- Fortune Defies Death, directed by Jennifer Hulum, recently signed a distribution deal with New Films International. The seasoned company has distributed Oscar nominees such as Life Is Beautiful (1997), Chocolat (2000), The Patriot (starring Mel Gibson, 2000), Ridley Scott's Hannibal (Starring Anthony Hopkins, Julianne Moore, 2001).

A Clue-esque mystery-drama written by R.S. Hill, Jennifer Hulum, and Lisa Hagen, the world premiere will take place in the prestigious Regal Cinemas/LA Live on February 27, 2018 at 10 pm during the Hollywood Reel Independent Film Festival in Hollywood, California.

The film stars Julie R. Ølgaard (Headhunters 2011, Nominated for BAFTA Film Award) and talented newcomer Shelby Lyon, (Pas à vendre 2014, Burbank International Film Festival winner). The ensemble cast includes up and coming actors Emily Anila Shah (Miss New Jersey USA 2014) and Mike Maolucci who recently appeared on the long-running TV show Criminal Minds.

This fresh throwback to the tradition of Agatha Christie's whodunits brings nine heirs to a remote cabin to hear the last will and testament of George Woods on the tenth anniversary of his death. But before anyone can stake a claim to the Woods' fortune, each must survive the family attorney's investigation into the mysterious disappearance of Woods' adopted daughter. As Fortune Defies Death hits the big screen, the producer Howard Lum is moving forward with the next project, a thriller tentatively titled A Crime Novel. The film is expected to start production in early 2019.
