NEW ORLEANS - EntSun -- New Orleans' artist Eric Johanson debuts at number two on the Billboard Blues Albums chart with his newest release, 'Covered Tracks: Vol. 1', a collection of stripped-down acoustic covers, and premieres new video for "25 or 6 to 4".
'Covered Tracks: Vol. 1' features acoustic guitar driven, blues inspired renditions of such wide ranging artists as Chicago, Nine Inch Nails, Skip James, The Cardigans, Taj Mahal, The Allman Brothers Band, and more.
Blues Rock Review writes, "Johanson conveys a solid sense of artistic identity in that many of the tracks diverge wildly from the originals, and end up sounding as if they were Johanson compositions."
To mark the Billboard debut, Eric is premiering a new video for "25 or 6 to 4", his take on the Chicago classic.
Rock and Blues Muse raves about the cover: "Johanson's minimalist version emphasizes the rock songwriting lurking beneath that big horn arrangement that's always on the radio somewhere and he gets the song to breathe in a whole new way. His guitar playing is sweet and strong in all the right places and his vocal performance is pure and true. It's obvious that Johanson respects the classic rock tradition a song like this belongs to but it's equally obvious that he hears it his own way."
