Cryolab Publishes Twenty Question Annual Self-Audit for Cryogenic Storage Rooms

EntSun News/11105378
WEST SUSSEX, U.K. - EntSun -- Cryolab, a specialist supplier of cryogenic equipment, consumables and servicing to the healthcare, fertility and research sectors, has published an annual self-audit for cryogenic storage rooms.

The audit asks twenty questions across five sections: the vessels, the monitoring, the inventory, the emergency plan, and the people and paper. Each is scored as pass, partial or fail. It is designed to take one person half a day and to find problems before an inspector or a failure does.

Among the questions are whether each vessel's fill interval has been plotted and has shortened without a change in workload, whether the independent alarm has been tested end to end by cooling or disconnecting the probe, whether a physical spot check of two randomly chosen goblets matches the inventory, and whether more than one person can run the transfer procedure.

Zero to two fails means fixing them this month. Three to six means prioritising monitoring and the emergency plan. Seven or more means repeating the audit quarterly until the count falls. Most questions need no new equipment, and at most four require modest purchases.

Cryolab was established in 2000 and supplies NHS hospitals, private hospitals, IVF clinics and research facilities in the UK and internationally.
