Colorado Springs Airport Monthly Update — May 2026
EntSun News/11096170
~ Colorado Springs Airport experienced a decline in passenger enplanements in May 2026, with a total of 106,722 compared to 112,023 in May 2025. This decrease of 4.7 percent is believed to be a result of various factors such as economic caution, higher fuel costs, and increased airfares.
According to the latest traffic report, Delta Air Lines saw a significant increase in enplanements, rising by 68.6 percent. This growth can be attributed to the addition of a second daily flight to Salt Lake City (SLC) and the use of larger aircraft for flights to Atlanta (ATL). American Airlines also experienced a modest increase of 3.5 percent due to their new service to Chicago O'Hare (ORD).
In other news, Colorado Springs Airport has announced its partnership with Cottonwood Center for the Arts for an upcoming exhibition titled "Many Happy Returns - A Birthday Exhibition for Colorado and America" in July. The airport was also the starting line sponsor and official airport of the International Pikes Peak Hill Climb that took place from June 23-25. Additionally, it is proud to serve as the official airport sponsor of the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo from July 8-12.

The airport has recently received $7.5 million in federal grant funding through the Federal Aviation Administration's Airport Terminal Program for terminal upgrades. This funding is part of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and will support improvements at airports across the country.
Looking ahead at the July flight schedule at Colorado Springs Airport, there will be twice-weekly service to PIE and AZA, while service to SNA will be paused from August 8 until October 1 due to increased fuel prices. There will also be up to six daily flights to DFW with connections both domestically and internationally.
Other destinations include daily service to ORD, twice-daily service to ATL and SLC, daily service to MSP, four-times-weekly service to SAN, up to twice-daily service to DAL, up to four-times-daily service to DEN, daily service to HOU, up to three-times-daily service to LAS and PHX. Seasonal service to SAT will resume on November 21.
In addition, there will be up to 12 daily flights to DEN, twice-daily service to IAH and ORD. With these updates and additions, Colorado Springs Airport continues to provide convenient and diverse flight options for travelers.
