City of Columbia schedules town hall meetings to discuss public safety sales tax ballot measure

(COLUMBIA, MO) ~ Columbia residents are being encouraged to attend a presentation about the proposed Public Safety Sales Tax that will be on the ballot in the upcoming city election. The Columbia Police Department and Columbia Fire Department have organized this event to inform community members about the 1% tax and its potential impact on public safety services.

The presentation, which will be held at various locations throughout the city, will feature representatives from both departments as well as members of the City Council. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the tax and its purpose, followed by a Q&A session where they can ask any questions they may have.

The events will take place in each of Columbia's six wards, with dates and times listed below:

- Ward 1: July 16 from 6-7 p.m. at the Columbia/Boone County Public Health Department located at 1005 W. Worley St.

- Ward 2: July 10 from 9-10 a.m. at the Molly Bowden Neighborhood Policing Center located at 1204 International Drive.

- Ward 3: July 13 from 1-2 p.m. at the American Legion Building located at 3669 Legion Lane.

- Ward 4: July 17 from 10-11 a.m. at the Daniel Boone Regional Library located at 100 W. Broadway.

- Ward 5: July 15 from noon-1 p.m. at Thornbrook Clubhouse located at 4300 Thornbrook Terrace.

- Ward 6: July 9 from7-8 p.m. at Sports Fieldhouse located at4251 Philips Farm Road.
