Charlotte Arts Institution To Hold Innovative Juried Team Exhibit

Charlotte Art League Teams with Enventys Partners and College of Art and Architecture at UNCC for "Reimagining Communities" CALaboration
MOORESVILLE, N.C. - EntSun -- Today's world calls for collaboration and innovation, and that is exactly what Charlotte Art League (CAL) is providing an opportunity to create in its latest exhibit. CAL, one of the city's oldest arts institutions, is teaming with Enventys Partners, an integrated product development and crowdfunding firm, and the College of Art and Architecture at UNCC for "Reimagining Communities," a team juried art exhibit that will be revealed to the public in May.
One of the exhibit's many unusual twists is that one of the jurors, Enventys Partners CEO Louis Foreman, is from outside the arts community. Along with Co-Juror Brook Muller, Dean of College of Art and Architecture at UNCC, Foreman and representatives from Enventys will provide guidance and support to the teams of 2 to 4 artists on meeting the exhibit's unique criteria involving innovation, mediums, collaboration, and theme.
"This exhibit configuration has never been attempted in the United States before, as far as our research has shown," notes CAL Executive Director Jim Dukes. "We will definitely be breaking new ground, providing our artists room for growth, and exposing CAL to a new community sector. Art drives design in many ways; adding a social construct to the mix will be amazing as we see what these teams create with innovative guidance."

The exhibit is planned to be the first at CAL's new gallery space at 4237 Raleigh St. when it opens on May 14. The winning team will receive $1,000 and have their work exhibited in June at Enventys Partners. In July, all the pieces will be on display at UNCC Charlotte's uptown gallery.
A virtual mixer is planned for Wednesday January 27, for individual artists interested in participating who don't have a team. Contact CAL for more details.
