Center Table Winter Harvest Returns This Christmas Season With Food Drive Event On December 16 & 17 At The Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center
EntSun News/10911135
Sponsored by The Mark Cuban Foundation, The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and The Heroes Foundation, Center Table will serve over 1,000 families and will also include dozens of meal deliveries to senior citizens
DALLAS - EntSun -- This Christmas season, the Center Table Winter Harvest food drive presented by The Mark Cuban Foundation, The Dirk Nowitzki Foundation and The Heroes Foundation, will host a two-day event in southern Dallas County.
On Thursday, Dec. 16, Center Table will provide meals from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. in conjunction with Dallas County Precinct 1's Government Offices annual Christmas party (8301 S Polk Street, Dallas 75232). This year, the party will be more than music, fellowship and a complimentary lunch, it will also include a job and social services fair.
On Friday, Dec, 17, from 9-11 a.m., Center Table will host a food giveaway at the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center (1800 Bonnie View Rd, Dallas, TX 75216). In partnership with the North Texas Food Bank, this second annual drive-through event will offer free food boxes and chicken vouchers for 500 families. The food drive is open to people who reside in the surrounding neighborhoods of the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center, including Cedar Crest, south Oak Cliff and southern Dallas County.

All food boxes and chicken vouchers are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Volunteers will include first responders, partners, and staff from the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center. Guests are required to wear masks while the food boxes are placed in their vehicles. Pre-registration is NOT required.
"This holiday season, we plan to celebrate the community once again with our Center Table event, which was started to not only support our neighbors but also to thank them – many who are frontline workers. As we continue to support our neighbors, we understand the increase in the cost of living continues to impact households, especially our senior citizens," said Trina Terrell-Andrews, CEO of the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center.
The Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center is a multi-purpose facility for youth and families, which provides sports, enrichment, leadership, and community programs. In the past year at the Mark Cuban Heroes Basketball Center, its Center Table Winter Harvest program has provided more than 4,000 meals to families, including the distribution of 1,100 turkeys in November and 550 prepared meals during Thanksgiving week. Further, as part of Center Table Winter Harvest, free chef-prepared meals will be delivered to senior citizens in the Center's surrounding neighborhoods on select dates in December. Prepared by The Bearded Chef and his team, the meals are customized to each individual's preferences and dietary restrictions and include an entrée, two sides, dessert, and tea.
