Three days in person, 20 seats, and a train into the city from all three airports. The venue goes to enrolled students once it is signed.

WASHINGTON - EntSun -- Federal and policy staff, military and veterans, therapists and clinicians: the Breathwork Certification in Washington, D.C. was planned for people who carry stress for a living. Liquid Breathwork will hold it May 21 to 23, 2027, three days in person for the whole DMV.

"You learn to settle your own nervous system first, then hold that space for someone else," said Ryan McBurney, who has guided Breathwork since 2018. "We can't share the venue yet, but we're excited about it. We're finalizing a beautiful space with great amenities and will announce it as soon as it's signed. If you live in Arlington, Alexandria, Reston or even Baltimore, you can commute in each day and sleep in your own bed."

Flying in works from any of the three airports. Reagan National has its own Metro station on the Blue and Yellow lines, Dulles is on the Silver Line, and BWI has MARC and Amtrak trains to Union Station.

Early seats (the first five) are $1,997, and the remaining 15 are $2,497. Put down $250 to hold one, with payment plans available. Your deposit transfers to another training date. Refunds are handled case by case.

McBurney teaches the full weekend side by side with co-founder Shelby Von Oepen, RN, BSN, who brings fourteen years of nursing to the safety side of the work. The approach is surrender-based and trauma-informed, built on the sigh of relief rather than a push for catharsis. Students guide real breathers and get feedback on cueing and pacing, then cover contraindications, consent around touch, and what to do when a session gets big. Registered Yoga Teachers can log the training toward Yoga Alliance continuing education hours through the Subject Matter Expert pathway.

Jesi Carroll, a current certification student, wrote on Google: "I was so intimidated before starting and to now feel that it's all possible feels so exciting."

Days run 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., snacks are provided, and the room tops out at 20. No venue is signed yet, so no neighborhood is named. On a free evening, locals head for Rock Creek Park or the C&O Canal towpath out of Georgetown.
