Independent singer, songwriter and producer Melissa B. has released "Higher," an Afrobeat/Afro-fusion single issued July 10, 2026 on her own Melissa B Inc label.

Melissa B.'s 2017 single "Dancing in the Rain" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Single Sales chart. With "Higher," the New York-based artist moves into Afrobeat, pairing the genre's percussion-driven sound with her R&B-rooted songwriting.

A voting member of the Recording Academy, Melissa B. has performed at Carnegie Hall and earned three Global Music Awards and a Hollywood Music in Media Award. She releases her music independently through Melissa B Inc., the label she founded in 2013.
