Due to the Impact of Covid-19, Tokyo's SUMIDA RIVER WALK Opening was Postponed to June 18, 2020. Also the West Zone of TOKYO mizumachi®, the Complex under the Elevated Railway will also Open June 18. East Zone TOKYO mizumachi tenants to open sequentially in June.
SUMIDA-KU, Japan - EntSun -- Tobu Railway Co., Ltd. announces that due to the impact of Covid-19, TOKYO mizumachi (https://www.tokyo-mizumachi.jp/en/) and SUMIDA RIVER WALK Footbridge, connecting TOKYO SKYTREE (http://www.tokyo-skytree.jp/) to Asakusa area sites, including Sensoji Temple and Asakusa Nakamize (shopping street), wiill Now Open on June 18, 2020.
TOKYO mizumachi Opening June 18
TOKYO mizumachi is a new destination offering a wide variety of dining and shopping options as well as budget accommodations. It is a multi-purpose facility under the railway tracks designed as a "neighborhood by the water." With 14 tenants, including a gym, shops, restaurants, cafes and a hostel, set to open sequentially in May onwards through June, TOKYO mizumachi will enhance the appeal of the district as a tourist destination. Guests staying at the WISE OWL HOSTELS RIVER TOKYO (https://wiseowlhostels.com/), inside TOKYO mizumachi, will experience a space designed with a "community living" feel. They can meet and hang out in the bar and lounge, not only with other hostel guests but also local area residents, to become truly immersed in the appeal of the downtown Shitamachi Area.

SUMIDA RIVER WALK Opening June 18, 2020
Visitors and locals alike can relax as they stroll between TOKYO SKYTREE – the tallest free-standing tower in the world and a symbol of Tokyo and Asakusa – home to Sensoji Temple, Tokyo's largest Buddhist temple complex. The new pedestrian bridge across the Sumida River, will provide improved access, convenience and comfort, along with magnificent views. Midway between the two sides is Sumida Park, which will feature a plaza and waterside terrace.
※Tokyo SKYTREE, which had been closed as of March 19, officially reopened on June 1.
