Afton Wolfe & The Snake Hunters 'Live from The Fallout Shelter' Arrives August 25

Torrid 15-Song, 74-Minute Concert from Wolfe's Stormtrooping 'Ophiuchus'
Trek. Nashville LP Release Show at The 5 Spot on 8/25 +
Special Performance during AMERICANAFEST (9/18)
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - EntSun -- Proverbial troubadour and genre-fluid provocateur Afton Wolfe has always navigated the cosmos tethered to mysticism, it permeates his art and consciousness, none more so than on last year's magnum opus, 'Ophiuchus,' which Alt77 likened to "Tom Waits writing an esoteric blues-folk record meant to soundtrack 'Lawrence of Arabia'."
Wolfe recalls its genesis, "The story of this live album goes back a couple of years. It actually goes back decades as some songs on this record are over 20 years old. Never mind that "What I Am" came out in 1988, when I was 10 years old, but I wrote "Cyclone" with Lhay Browning in a treehouse in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 1998, and "Paper Piano" is at least 25 years old. But the reason I wanted to do this at The Fallout Shelter – aside from it being a magical place, manned by incorruptible heroes and soldiers in the battle between good and evil, with state-of-the-art live audio and video recording equipment and a steady crowd of true music fans that understand the most precious resource I know of – community."

Produced by Bill Hurley for The Extended Play Sessions at The Fallout Shelter in Norwood, MA, just west of Boston, Wolfe's "Snake Hunters" for this edition of interstellar overdrive were Fallout's very own Connor Quigley on bass, Madison George on drums, Seth Fox on sax, guitar and clarinet, and Alan Bailey, who flew up from New Orleans to play keys.
