The event will be a showcase of Caribbean and sustainable fashion.
WASHINGTON - EntSun -- Zawadi African Gallery and Boutique will host global founder and creative director, Robert Young of The Cloth to showcase his newest collection of Caribbean and sustainable fashion. For over 36 years, Mr. Young has created a fashion label designed and based in Trinidad and Tobago. The Cloth is known for its natural and visually striking prints and designs that embody elements of Caribbean folk traditions. Attendees can meet the creative director and purchase items exclusively at Zawadi. The event takes place for two days, July 16th and 17th from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. There also will be a live fashion display on July 16th at 2:00 p.m.
"Zawadi has always highlighted cutting-edge, phenomenal artists and designers of the African diaspora. We are excited to host Robert Young and The Cloth for this event," stated Irene Whalen, owner of Zawadi. "This year marks our 30-year anniversary and we're proud to still be a part of the historic U Street offering contemporary and traditional pieces that reflect the very best of Africa."

The Cloth has cultivated a devout customer base of multiple generations. Last year, Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley, who was recently named to the TIME 100 List of Influential People, wore custom attire from The Cloth for her interview in British Vogue.
