Web App Improves Messaging in a Time of Polarization

EntSun News/11072931
Uses the Power of AI to Determine Alignment with Constructive Communication Principles

WASHINGTON - EntSun -- Two brothers concerned about rising political tensions have launched a web application to help users craft messages that convey strong opinions effectively without inflaming emotions or ending the dialogue.

The Message Analyst app is now available for use free of charge at https://MessageAnalyst.com. It was developed by Gene Kraybill, an instructional designer and journalist with international publishing credits who lives in Pennsylvania, and Ron Kraybill, a Washington, DC-based conflict resolution expert with extensive international consulting experience.

Users can type or paste in messages of any length, such as a social media post, a text message, or even a speech, and the app uses special programming and AI training to provide instant feedback and suggestions for revision. The Message Analyst assesses whether text is aligned with 10 recommended guidelines for effective communication in polarized situations. The app also points out "dark passions" that harm communication if not handled carefully. These are anger, hatred, resentment, fear, the urge to dominate, and humiliation, as defined by author William Galston in his new book, "Anger, Fear, Domination: Dark Passions and the Power of Political Speech".
