DENVER ~ In an effort to engage and inspire the next generation of leaders, Governor Jared Polis of Colorado has announced a unique opportunity for seventh and eighth grade students. The "Governor for a Day" competition invites young Coloradans who are passionate about state government to join Governor Polis at the State Capitol and experience firsthand what it takes to lead Colorado.
According to Governor Polis, "Young Coloradans are our future and there's no better way to get involved in state government than by being Governor for a day." He believes that this experience will not only give students a behind-the-scenes look at how state government works, but also inspire them to become active participants in shaping the future of their state.
The contest is open for entries starting today, August 31, with submissions closing on September 7. The winner will be announced on September 14 and will have the opportunity to spend a day with Governor Polis in Denver, learning about the responsibilities and duties of being governor.

To enter the competition, students must fill out a form and submit a video between 30 seconds to two minutes long explaining why they want to be governor of Colorado for a day. This is an exciting opportunity for young Coloradans to showcase their passion for their state and gain valuable insights into the workings of government.
Governor Polis is eager to welcome one lucky student into his office and show them what it takes to lead Colorado towards a brighter future.
