Turkey's Trade Deficit Widened 8.3% Through July 2026. Macro Data Alone Can't Explain Why

SINGAPORE - EntSun -- Turkey's trade deficit has widened 8.3% so far in 2026, according to the country's official trade statistics, the same national data that flows into macro platforms like the International Trade Centre's Trade Map (ITC Trade Map), a joint World Trade Organization and United Nations agency's global trade database covering more than 150 countries.

That is the structural difference between the two layers of trade data. ITC Trade Map and comparable national statistics report totals: how much a country imported or exported, broken down by product category and partner country, updated monthly or annually.

For Turkey's first quarter of 2026, TradeInt's independently compiled figures, $91.07 billion in imports and $63.26 billion in exports, landed within roughly 1% of the $91.9 billion and $63.2 billion reported in Turkey's official statistics for the same period.
