Tsika Dzedu: Zimbabwe National Exhibition & Competition 2026 to Celebrate Zimbabwean Artists

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - EntSun -- DOMBOSHAVA, ZIMBABWE — Artgal.Online will present Tsika Dzedu: Zimbabwe National Exhibition & Competition 2026 at the Artgal Zim Center in Domboshava from September 8–12, 2026, bringing together artists and the broader cultural community for an exhibition and competition celebrating Zimbabwean artistic expression.

The event will culminate in a vernissage and awards ceremony on September 12, with selected artworks remaining on exhibition at the Artgal Zim Center for a further three weeks.

Tsika Dzedu arrives at an important moment in the continuing development of Artgal.Online and the Artgal Zim Center. From its physical base in Domboshava, the platform is developing opportunities for contemporary Zimbabwean art through exhibitions, artist development, cultural programming, education, digital initiatives, and international relationships.

At the center of this work is the Artgal Zim Center, a cultural and educational space supporting established and emerging artists while providing opportunities for exhibitions, creative development, and cultural exchange. Through its programming, Artgal.Online is working to create greater visibility for Zimbabwean artists and build connections with collectors, curators, museums, galleries, cultural institutions, and audiences internationally.

SUPPORTING EMERGING ARTISTIC VOICES

The upcoming exhibition follows the recent conclusion of the Artgal Zim Center's first art competition, Viksit Bharat 2047: India Through Zimbabwean Brushstrokes, developed in collaboration with the Embassy of India in Harare.

The initiative brought together 17 emerging young artists in Zimbabwe and culminated in judging and a prize-giving ceremony hosted at the Residence of the Ambassador of India to Zimbabwe. The competition supported emerging artistic voices while fostering cultural exchange and strengthening connections between Zimbabwean contemporary art and the international cultural community.

FROM DOMBOSHAVA TO INTERNATIONAL AUDIENCES

While the Artgal Zim Center serves as the physical foundation for this growing initiative, Artgal.Online's activities increasingly extend beyond Zimbabwe.

The platform has developed international relationships through collaborations with cultural institutions and participation in international art events, including its collaboration with the Southampton African American Museum (SAAM) and participation at Art International Zurich.

Its growing body of material includes explorations of Sampson Kuvenguhwa's Mapiti and Dry Tree sculptural styles, Keith Zenda's evolving artistic philosophy of Zendaism, and the history and cultural significance of Zimbabwean totems.

The platform also features artist profiles and viewing rooms representing a growing community of Zimbabwean artists working across painting, mixed media, and sculpture, including Keith Zenda, Tonderai Mujuru, Willard Mujuru, Willard Magiga, Florah Maphosa, and Sampson Kuvenguhwa, alongside other emerging and established artists.
