The Machine Blue Book Connects 41,354 Model Entries to the Full Ownership Decision

Independent machinery reference moves beyond specifications and asking prices to the real work of buying, installing, operating and selling equipment

ORLANDO, Fla. - EntSun -- A machine listing can show a model and an asking price. It rarely tells a buyer what the machine will cost to inspect, remove, transport, power, commission and support.

The Machine Blue Book has launched an independent public reference designed to close that gap. The platform connects new and used machine specifications with dated asking-price evidence, standards, buying and selling guidance, and the complete ownership path surrounding industrial equipment.

At launch, the site indexes 41,354 model entries. Its open model index organizes 3,886 normalized model groups with published asking-price evidence, while the September 2026 used CNC machine market report analyzes 10,796 qualified asking-price observations. Each price is presented as an observation of what a source advertised, not proof of a completed sale, an appraisal or a valuation of a specific machine.

"A machine is not just a model number and an asking price," said Michael Davis, founder of The Machine Blue Book and Delta Arc. "The real decision includes condition, control, options, removal, freight, power, tooling, service and what happens when the owner eventually sells it. Those facts usually live in different places. MBB connects them without pretending that every uncertainty has disappeared."

The Machine Blue Book addresses four recurring industry gaps: exact machine identity, market context, production-ready cost and ownership continuity. Model names may conceal different generations and configurations. Asking prices are not completed-sale prices. The quote may exclude inspection, rigging, freight, utilities, tooling, repairs and startup. Parts, training, maintenance and resale matter long after the purchase agreement.

The platform also explains 60 manufacturing, quality, safety and export-related standards and organizes service research across 51 state and district directories. Selected reference pages are available in eight languages.

The system grew from the industry-agnostic opportunity-intelligence architecture developed by Delta Arc. Its framework ties a dated signal to a known entity, retains the source, separates observation from interpretation and directs the result to the next decision. MBB applies that structure to machine manufacturers, models, specifications, price observations, standards and ownership stages.

MBB does not sell machines and currently receives no payment merely to list, rank or recommend an outside manufacturer, seller or service provider. Its downloadable datasets are licensed under CC BY 4.0 for credited reuse.
