~ San Antonio, TX- Governor Greg Abbott has announced that $6,187,000 in Funds for Veterans' Assistance (FVA) grants have been awarded to 24 organizations in the San Antonio and South-Central Texas region. This funding is part of the Texas Veterans Commission (TVC) Grants Across Texas Tour and will provide services to an estimated 103,749 area veterans.
Governor Abbott expressed his gratitude for the brave men and women who have served their country, stating that "Texas will always honor the sacrifices made by the brave men and women who answered the call to serve." He also emphasized the importance of these grants in helping veterans access necessary services to thrive.
The TVC, which administers these grants, is chaired by Navy veteran Laura Koerner. She thanked each of the award recipients for their dedication to serving veterans and making a difference in their lives. As a veteran herself, Koerner highlighted the significance of these grants in her own community of San Antonio.
