Ten Ten Ten Announces Free Value-Based Care Playbook for Independent Primary Care Practices

EntSun News/11095863
PITTSBURGH - EntSun -- Ten Ten Ten, a nonprofit organization focused on improving U.S. health outcomes while reducing healthcare spending, today announced the launch of its free Value-Based Care Playbook for independent primary care practices.

The playbook is designed to help independent practices evaluate, prepare for, and participate in value-based care arrangements without being locked into a vendor, broker, savings skim, or sales funnel. It is available at no cost and with no obligation.

"Value-based care should mean better outcomes, smarter spending, stronger primary care, and real accountability," said Dr. Jenn Block, PhD, Ten Ten Ten's Chief Architect of Value-Based Care. "Independent practices are asked to carry financial risk, while others capture the economics. This playbook is our first step toward changing that."

Independent primary care practices are increasingly being asked to participate in risk-based contracts, Medicare Advantage arrangements, and other value-based models. Yet many enter into these agreements without adequate data, contract transparency, care management infrastructure, or financial protection. In some cases, practices face major financial exposure before they have the operational support needed to succeed.

The Ten Ten Ten playbook is intended to give practices a practical starting point. It covers core areas such as contract review, documentation, risk adjustment, care team design, data readiness, patient access, care gap management, and when a practice should or should not take on risk.

"Many physicians want to do the right thing for patients, but the system often makes that harder than it should be," said Dr. Bhargav Raman, cofounder of Ten Ten Ten. "We built this resource for the practices trying to improve care without being forced into arrangements that benefit everyone except the physician and the patient."

Ten Ten Ten is also inviting independent practices and advisors to contribute real-world experience through its collaborative wiki.

The project was developed under the guidance of Jenn Block, Bhargav Raman, and the Ten Ten Ten VBC task force, which includes Faarina Khan, MD, MPH, Katherine Eisenberg, MD, PhD, FAAFP, Michael Udwin, MD, Ujjwal Ramtekkar, MD, MBA, CPE, MPE, DFAACAP, FAPA, and Valerie Choniuk, MPA-HCA, CPXP.
