CALDWELL, N.J. - EntSun -- Ted Evans, a longtime educator and coach at Paramus High School, has been named Head Coach of Caldwell University Flag Football, it was announced by Mark A. Corino, Assistant Vice President and Director of Athletics. Evans, who has coached the sport as well as football and basketball, will lead the Cougar women in their inaugural season of competition in Spring 2027.

In addition to teaching sports marketing and financial literacy at Paramus High, Evans built the school's first flag football team in 2023. In his first year as head coach he was named Flag High School Football Coach of the Week Game Changer in association with the New York Jets. In his four years at Paramus Evans accumulated a 20-15-2 record with two SFC playoff appearances and in 2026 the Spartans finished with a 6-5 record, including wins in four of their last six contests. Evans produced multiple All-Super Football conference players an All-State and an All-American player. He also has produced a number of players who continued flag careers on the college club level.

Evans also served as the director of the prestigious U.S. Army All-America Flag Bowl Football Game,(now known as Military Appreciation Bowl) held at The Star in Frisco, Texas, showcasing the nation's top flag football players.

"Coach Evans brings exceptional experience in this relatively new sport that will help us immensely in hitting the ground running this year," said Corino. "He has built a successful program from scratch and his work with the U.S. Army Bowl ties him in well to the flag football scene as we open play in the CACC and ECAC."

Evans replaces T.J. Kroncke, who had been named to the Caldwell head flag football post earlier this year but was later named sprint football head coach and will instead assume those duties at the University.

A native of Woodcliff Lake, N.J., and graduate of St. Joseph Regional High School in Montvale, N.J., the 1990 Hofstra University graduate was a three year letterwinner before beginning his teaching and coaching career
