EntSun News/11102694
~ Mesa, AZ - Residents of Mesa who are interested in learning more about their local government and ways to get involved are invited to attend the upcoming Resident's Guide to Community and Civic Engagement class. The free one-hour class will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at Mesa City Hall, located at 20 E. Main St., from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Hosted by the City's Community Engagement Division, this informative class aims to provide residents with an inside look at how they can participate in local decision-making and explore leadership opportunities by serving on City advisory boards. "An engaged community is one where residents feel informed, connected and empowered to participate in the decisions that shape their neighborhoods and our city," said Cynthia Ezcurra, Community Engagement Administrator.

During the class, participants will also learn about the City's board appointment process and what to expect when serving on an advisory board. They will also discover ways to become more involved in their community. Following the presentation, there will be a question-and-answer session with the Community Engagement team and City Clerk staff.
