ANNAPOLIS, MARYLAND (June 29, 2026) ~ Annapolis, Maryland - The Maryland Department of Agriculture (MDA) is calling on local seafood industry stakeholders to participate in upcoming public meetings to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the state's seafood marketing efforts. The meetings, in collaboration with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources and industry partners, aim to gather feedback and insights from harvesters, processors, restaurants, distributors, and other stakeholders.
The MDA recognizes the importance of promoting locally harvested seafood and is seeking input from those directly involved in the industry. The information gathered during these sessions will be used to develop strategies to strengthen seafood marketing efforts across the state. A formal report with findings and recommendations will be published in December 2026.

Interested parties are invited to attend one or both sessions, but registration is required in advance. The meetings will provide an overview of current seafood marketing initiatives in Maryland and allow participants to contribute their ideas for future strategies.
The first session will take place on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Maryland Department of Agriculture located at 50 Harry S. Truman Parkway in Annapolis. The second session will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Eastern Shore Innovation Center located at 104 Tech Park Drive in Cambridge.
Those wishing to attend must complete a registration form by Friday, August 14, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. Registration for in-person attendance will close at this time. For any questions or concerns regarding these meetings, please contact MDA's Chief of Marketing and Agricultural Development Martin Proulx.
The MDA looks forward to hearing from industry stakeholders and working together to promote Maryland's seafood industries.
