"Only A Moment" from Dave Carey Extends Comfort To Fans on Corona Diaries from Big Fuss Records

CAMPBELL, Calif. - EntSun -- Dave Carey is a native of Cork, South Ireland. His style has been consistently compared to the likes of Paul McCartney, Gilbert o Sullivan, Clifford T Ward, The Kinks, and Billy Joel. Recently, Dave Carey was selected to participate in Big Fuss Records own "Corona Diaries" (Songs for a Pandemic), where 10 exceptional artists were chosen for inclusion of one song for a musical expression of current conditions and all that comes with Covid 19, and the Corona Virus.

When Dave Carey started out, money was tight for music lessons, so he learned everything by ear. He practiced on an old beat up piano on the second floor of a social club. It was there that he learned songs and became hooked on classic bands from jazz to blues of the 50s, 60s and 70s. And at his home, it was impossible to escape the house without listening to a Beatles song on tape or vinyl. There was always music flowing around the house either from his brother practicing guitar or vinyl and "best of" tapes.

Later, Dave progressed to guitar, while continuing to focus on his songwriting. The door was opened wider with another instrument to explore and Dave encountered a band that needed a drummer. So he decided to step into that role and learned to play drums. Its at this time that Dave's original song "Into the New World" was recorded. He was 16 at the time and the band won local and national competitions, but eventually split.

Dave went on to form his own band "The Daystars", which were a raw three-piece rock and roll outfit. Another one of Dave's original songs; "For as Long" received airplay on local radio stations.

In 2012, Dave Carey graduated in a performance and production course. During that time, he would share the stage with the likes of Mick Flannery, an award winning double platinum songwriter and OEmperor, Irelands Rte music choice awards winners.

The frustration, sadness, hope and fear and everything in between that the world has recently experienced are reflected in "Corona Diaries" (Songs for a Pandemic).
