North Austin Music Therapy creates solutions to continue serving clients and the community throughout the greater Austin area during the coronavirus

AUSTIN, Texas - EntSun -- Due to growing concerns in regards to the coronavirus, North Austin Music Therapy is presenting clients and the community with alternative ways of receiving music therapy and music wellness services. In addition to offering telehealth sessions to both individual and group clients, North Austin Music Therapy is also bringing live music and movement groups to residents of retirement and long-term care communities, leading sessions from outside of buildings, to engage residents in singing, dancing, and music-making while maintaining a safe social distance and respecting community shelter-in-place directives. Outdoor groups started this week and have proven to be a huge success, with residents eager to participate and engage with peers, staff, and with therapists from North Austin Music Therapy.

Founder and Clinical Director, Meredith Hamons, MT-BC, is operating from the mantra, "Social distancing should never mean social isolation," and is passionate about her company's mission to expand possibilities through music therapy. She is so excited to be able to continue bringing the power of music to older adults and those of all ages during this time.
