New Florida Film Fund launched

MIAMI - EntSun -- Florida Film Funds announces a new approach to restoring Florida's status as a primary location for motion picture production with the launch of the South Florida Film Fund One LLC.

Intended to stabilize and grow production infrastructure in Florida's four southern counties – Monroe, Miami Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach – the Fund is the first of several regional film financing ventures planned for release under the Florida Film Funds brand.

South Florida Film Fund One will provide partial financing at competitive rates and conditions to independent feature film and limited episodic television productions in the $2 million to $8 million range. It intends to prioritize projects with commercial appeal that tell compelling stories, make use of recognizable South Florida locations, and reflect the remarkable cultural diversity of the South Florida region.

While designed to attract productions from outside the state, the work of aspiring Florida filmmakers and in-state production companies is anticipated to be an increasing focus as the Fund matures.

About Florida Film Funds

Florida Film Funds is the umbrella organization for a series of regional film financing funds that are being developed to offset the lack of state tax credit incentives available to the Florida film industry. The funds will provide a financial rationale for producers to once again allocate significant resources to the Sunshine State for major motion picture production.
