My Care Choices Register (MCCR) launch new website to help people who are living with dementia, incurable illness or frailty record their priorities for future care.
COLCHESTER, England - May 23, 2019 - EntSun -- My Care Choices Register have recently released their new website to help those living with dementia, incurable illness or frailty to record their wishes in regards to future care.
The premise of the website is to encourage people to think about how they would like to be cared for if they become more unwell.
The My Care Choices Register (MCCR), which was set up in 2013 after an end of life government care strategy, was originally made to focus on helping people with incurable illnesses prepare for the future. However, in 2016 the decision was made to open the register up to those with dementia, frailty and more recently people living in a care home.
The MCCR is GP led, after many GPs realised that their patients would benefit from being on the register.

Being part of the register allows you to record your wishes for future care if you were to become unwell. And makes sure that your priorities are made clear to the carers looking after you.
The register allows you to record who you would like to be contacted. Where you would like to receive care. And your views on the type of care you would or would not like to receive.
The information is then stored on a secure database to allow health professionals access to your priorities in times of a crisis.
It has been reported that many people would prefer not to spend their last days in hospital and would prefer instead to spend their last days at home. However, almost half of the nation will spend their last days in the hospital. Those who recorded their preferences on the My Care Choices Register are much more likely to spend their end days at home.
If you would like to learn more about the My Care Choices Register you can either contact your GP or visit: https://mycarechoices.online/ there along with a more detailed description of the services provided one can find various case studies from others who have benefited from the MCCR.
