EntSun News/11058506
~ As the 2025 Rochester Lilac Festival approaches, residents and visitors are advised to plan their travel accordingly as the annual parade will affect traffic on Saturday, May 10. According to the organizers, participants will begin staging at 8 a.m. along Science Parkway and the surrounding side streets off South Avenue.
The parade is expected to cause disruptions along South Avenue as roads between Elmwood Avenue and E. Henrietta Road, including Booth Street, Warren Street, Rosemont Street, and Fort Terrace, will be closed to traffic at 9:15 a.m. In addition, Elmwood Avenue between S. Clinton Avenue and Mt. Hope Avenue will also be closed to traffic except for residents and emergency vehicles.
At 10:30 a.m., the parade will officially kick off at the intersection of South Avenue and Science Parkway. It will then proceed northbound on South Avenue before turning eastbound on Highland Avenue towards S. Goodman Street where it will disband. To ensure smooth flow of the parade, no street parking will be allowed along the route.
