~ Mesa Police Department Joins East Valley DUI Task Force for Fourth of July Weekend
As the Fourth of July holiday weekend approaches, the Mesa Police Department has announced that they will be joining forces with the East Valley DUI Task Force to ensure the safety of our roads. The DUI saturation patrols will be in effect from Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5, with officers stationed at various command posts across the East Valley.
The primary goal of the East Valley DUI Task Force is to reduce impaired driving and prevent accidents, injuries, and fatalities caused by drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This initiative is made possible through a grant from the Arizona Governor's Office of Highway Safety.

In light of this collaboration, the Mesa Police Department is urging everyone to celebrate responsibly. If you plan on consuming alcohol or using any impairing substances, it is crucial to designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, or make other safe transportation arrangements before heading out.
Furthermore, citizens are encouraged to report any reckless or suspected impaired driving they may witness to their local law enforcement agency. For non-emergency incidents within Mesa, individuals can call the Mesa Police Department's non-emergency line at 480-644-2211.
