Hakonson is also passionate about giving back. In addition to donating two percent of revenue to charities, she also encourages women to enter entrepreneurship and the technology sector. Hakonson has served as a volunteer on the Board of Directors for Simon Fraser University Alumni Board, the Aligned Collective Society and currently serves on the Board of North Shore Connexions Society.

This year's Stevie Awards will be presented at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York on Friday, November 15. More than 1,500 entries were submitted in more than 90 categories. Finalists were determined by juries comprised of more than 150 business professionals around the world who make up the seven juries. These scores will determine the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Stevie Award placements. As a finalist in the Female Entrepreneur of the Year category, Hakonson is in good company with leading female entrepreneurs from around the world.
