Philadelphia's Steven Weisz showcases 1930s nightclub-inspired photography at Milan Metro Expo, streaming live worldwide.
PHILADELPHIA - EntSun -- Today, a striking image by Lansdowne's Steven Weisz of Art Imagined Photography is lighting up Milan's Metro Expo, gracing the bustling Piazza San Carlo. This piece, featuring Philadelphia-based model and dance artist Michaela Delaney Guthrie, offers a vibrant nod to the glamour and energy of the 1930s and '40s nightclub scene. Attendees can catch the display in person or join a live Instagram feed that streams the art to viewers worldwide, bringing the thrill of this global exhibition directly to their screens.
Weisz captured this evocative image at Philadelphia's Novalight Studios, during a Philly Shutter Club gathering. Guthrie, a student at Temple University's Boyer College of Music and Dance, brings the piece to life with her dynamic presence. The shot was taken with Weisz's Sony A7RV camera and Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 lens, which skillfully highlight the grace and charisma Guthrie brings to the image—a tribute to the jazz-infused, vibrant spirit of a bygone era.

The Metro Expo in Milan, running today and tomorrow, spans the historic Corso V. Emanuele area, where Weisz's image is displayed on a towering maxi LED wall, forming an iconic backdrop against Milan's bustling cityscape. The Corso V. Emanuele pathway, connecting the prominent Piazza del Duomo with Piazza San Babila, is expected to draw over 850,000 visitors during the two-day showcase. It's a fittingly grand stage for a piece that celebrates both history and the present, paying homage to classic nightclub culture while resonating with contemporary artistry.
"We're incredibly proud to share this work with an international audience," says Weisz. "Having this image displayed in such a prominent space is an honor. We set out to capture the energy and elegance of the nightclub era and are thrilled to see it resonate on a global scale."
The Milan Metro Expo is a highlight in the art world, bringing together 416 artists from 37 countries. Weisz joins a select group of 55 U.S. artists, representing not only Art Imagined Photography but also a diverse community of American artists whose work is pushing boundaries and celebrating cultural legacies.
