Learn to Detect the Signs and Stop Domestic Abuse at the Unmask Abuse Program

MILFORD, N.J. - EntSun -- The tragic death and disappearance of Gaby Petito underscore the urgency to detect and stop domestic violence, an epidemic that affects one in every four women and one in seven men. The signs are often so subtle that they can be missed by police and the public.

In this three-part series, domestic violence advocates Dr. Merary Simeon and Sonia Frontera debunk the myths about partner abuse that keep victims in the shadows and their loved ones in the dark.

Participants will learn:

• How to uncover the signs of an abusive relationship that have been unclear until now.
• Why victims stay in harmful relationships.
• How to break free from abuse and how to help someone who is being mistreated by a partner.
• Actionable steps to heal and empower themselves to enjoy a life free from abuse.

This virtual event will begin on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, from 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm Eastern Time with two additional sessions on October 20 and October 27 at 1:30 pm Eastern Time.
